Furthermore in a large business you can become more specialized in your work. However this is in my opinion not necessarily an advantage, but it is considered to be a plus. Also you may get abroad easier than if you work for a small company. Moreover if you have troubles with your colleagues you can just change the department. And then there are the benefits, which a big organization can offer. Small companies cannot match the big ones in this case. Nevertheless there are some disadvantages as well. Firstly the big firms are not very flexible and therefore cannot react to market changes quickly. Secondly the relationships with your colleagues are usually only formal and you don’t get to know all the people like in small businesses. In addition there is a big competition between the employees, so you have to work very hard. Consequently your colleagues can become mean and cabal may result. Moreover you don’t enjoy much independence in big companies. What's more you cannot really deal with problems face to face. It is certainly very individual for everyone to choose, where to work. It depends on the people’s personality. You have to make yourself clear what you want. I would probably like to start my career in a smaller or midsized company with potential to grow strongly and enjoy all the advantages of both alternatives.
