Mount Rushmore
It is the state of South Dakota in the mountains called the Black Hills. It is dedicated to 4 presidents– G. Washington, T. Jefferson, A. Lincoln and T. Roosevelt. Their faces are carved into a high granite cliff. These faces are the largest sculpture in the world.

GC is deep gorge which was carved by the river into the rock. At some places, it is over a mile deep its walls are very colourful. It is a beautiful sight

Stonehenge
It is a mysterious stone structure. It was believed that it was built by Celts but it isn´t true. It was built by some unknown nation. It consist of huge heavy stones arranged into 2 circles. It is a mystery how these ancient people could transport these stones for long distances with their primitive tools. Another mystery is how they could erect these huge stones. There are many theories about it. The best theory is that they probably had to dig a hole in the ground, then they put the lower part of the stone into the hole, then they tied ropes around the stone and pulled on the ropes to lift the stone. Historians don’t know why this structure was built. Some people think that it was an ancient church or an observatory.

Loch ness
It is famous for its monster called Nessie. Many people believe that Nessie lives somewhere in this lake. Many people say that they have seen her and many say that they have a photos of her. All these photos are fakes. She looks like a snake, or the frog or worm or a dinosaur. The legend about Nessie started in the 6th century. It started because the water in this lake is very dark and thick.

Edinburgh
Edinburgh is famous for its beautiful old town with many fine buildings and for its medieval castle which stand on an extinct volcano. It is also famous for festivals. During this festival E. is crowded with people.
