My twelve hours of ork look like this. I start at six, either in the morning or in the evening. First af all I have to check reservations for the concrete day so that I know who is coming to check in or who is leaving. When the guest decide to check out, I am the one to whom he or she pays the bill, so I also take responsobility for money I work with. As the hours fly during day or through night, there are lot of other duties to be done by me, as a receptionist. We, for instance, tend the Relax Centre, which is included to the hotel as well as do various kinds of secretarial work. Negative side of this job is, on the other hand, working during the night, what is not very pleasant all the timeand the fact that I sometimes get bored, especially during weekend shifts as our hotel is mostly settled through week days and weekend´s occupancy is less.
Although I like working at a hotel, it is not what I want to do all my life. I´d like to get into a profession of a book translator. As I am a bookworm and read almost whenever and whereverI guess I could join enjoyable with profitable. I would like my job to include being my own boss, having possibilities for travel and using my abilities and skills. Moreover, if it is not a monotonous job and is useful and well paid, that would be only benefit. And in my opinion, this profession fulfills all conditions.
The other point about spending our time is effective set-up of a day. Time is very valuable and fast-running thing, so we shouldn´t waste it. I try to keep this „rules“ : Do the most important things first. Secondly, don´t plan many things to do as you can be then disappointed when you don´t realise them. And the last one: do one thing after you had finished the previous one. But of course, even if we make a good plan for a day, we can´t avoid stress situations at work, at home or even in a bus while traveling somewhere. Well, we, in these situations, should stay calm, not be angry with someone for no reason and try to solve the problem together. There are also different techniques to get rid of stress. Somebody, for example, relax by listening to music, reading or doing some sport activity and somebody else may try things like yoga or meditation. Each of us has to find his own method to get into right mood.
In summary, I could say that we, ourselves, are Masters of our own time, so it is always up to us what we work out of it.
