Nuclear Weapons
In my opinion we can consider nuclear weapons for one of the wonders of the modern world. Because if only USA invented nuclear weapons, they would bombard USSR and they would destroy the world and if USA didn’t invent nuclear weapons they wouldn’t defeat Japan in Second World War. So the great states must have nuclear weapons because they have to show their power to other states and they don’t attack them and than there will be no wars (perhaps anymore). We can use nuclear weapons to destroy an asteroid that can destroy the Earth as in the movie Armageddon too. In the future we can use them against aliens if we discover them.
