I write somethink about my best and favourite band-Papa Roach. They just have a nev single cald:Betwen the angels and insect. Its rely cool.I were on their concert in LA.
Originating from Vacaville, Northern California, USA, Papa Roach established themselves alongside major nu-metal bands such as Korn and Limp Bizkit with the release of their major label debut, Infest. The band was formed in 1993 by high school friends Jacoby Shaddix aka Coby Dick (b. 1976, Vacaville, California, USA), Dave Buckner (b. 1976, Vacaville, California, USA; drums) and Will James (bass), with Jerry Horton (b. 1975, Vacaville, California, USA; guitar) joining shortly afterwards. The quartet named themselves after Shaddix's grandfather, and adopted the cockroach as an abiding symbol of resilience and longevity. Demonstrating the influence of Faith No More and Rage Against The Machine, Papa Roach became a popular attraction on the Northern Californian music scene, their powerful live shows and tortured lyrics attracting a loyal, young fanbase. The band's debut long-player, Potatoes For Christmas, was released on their own label in 1994. In 1996 the band's roadie Tobin Esperance (b. 1980, Vacaville, California, USA) was brought in to replace James. Their second album, Old Friends From Young Years, established a prominent hip-hop influence, with Coby Dick often rapping entire verses of songs. The album was a local hit and led to support slots for bands such as Suicidal Tendencies and Incubus, which helped introduce the band to a wider audience. The 5 Tracks Deep and Let 'Em Know EPs were released before the band signed a major label contract with DreamWorks. Infest, which included re-recordings of several old songs, perfected the band's ferocious rap-metal hybrid. Dick's lyrics cover the usual concerns of a Generation Y band, including divorce ('Broken Home'), materialism ('Between Angels And Insects'), alcohol and drug abuse ('Binge' and 'Thrown Away'), and suicide ('Last Resort').

The latter song hit an instant chord with many young Americans, helping Infest climb into the US Top 5.

The Gift of Game

With the urban squalor of South Central just minutes away from the glamour and glitz of Beverly Hills, the Los Angeles metropolitan area is easily one of the most dynamic and volatile socio-cultural environments on the planet. Therefore, it really should come as no surprise that this location would produce some of the most explosive amd stylistically synergistic music of the modern era.

Crazy Town, a seven-man band based in the City of Angels, redirects the course of modern music with The Gift of Game, their debut album on Columbia Records. Spearheaded by lyricists/vocalists/producers Shifty Shellshock and Epic Mazur, who've been key behind-the-scenes players on the L.A. rap scene for the past eight years, Crazy Town masterfully combines hip-hop's lyrical attitude and rhythmic sass with the sonic musculature of live rock instrumentation.

"It was my calling in life," Shifty says of forming Crazy Town. "I grew up listening to hip-hop and punk rock. Crazy Town is like an X-rated Dennis The Menace. We wanted to paint a picture of what's going on with kids today. I wanted to incorporate rap and rock like it had never been done before. No matter what kind of music you liked, I wanted you to enjoy something about it."

"I don't know what you would classify our music as," Epic adds. "Sometimes you may think it's purely rock, sometimes just hip-hop. But listening to the whole album, we're expressing whatever kind of music through a hip-hop mentality. We're some hip-hop kids that needed to rock, rather than some rock kids that needed to rap."

Produced by close friend Josh Abraham (Orgy, Coal Chamber) and Epic The Gift of Game features audio H-bombs like "Little Black Cloud" -- with Jay Gordon from scene mates Orgy -- and "Dark Side." The latter was the last song recorded for the album, yet it masterfully states the musical alchemy that is Crazy Town. An aggressive tune delivered by pulsing guitars, boasting snarling vocals, "Dark Side" contains both the twisted musical and lyrical punch that is the group's signature.

"The beat is banging and by the time it gets to the chorus, you don't notice the change," Epic says. "All of the sudden your head is banging up against the fucking wall." "Everybody has their dark side," Shifty chimes in regarding the sinister twist of the lyrics, "whether they want to admit it or not."

Then there's the first single "Toxic," a fittingly abrasive tune, effectively the Crazy Town theme song summing up the organized confusion of the band's aural assault. "'Toxic' describes Crazy Town because our sound is toxic," Shifty relates. "It gets inside of you and its radioactive.

We're loud and obnoxious."

"Butterfly" is an ode to the one special woman every man hopes to have by his side someday, while "Revolving Door" is about getting down with as many honeys as you can in the meantime while you're still looking for Ms. Right.

Crazy Town's lyrics recount the temptations and the trials people go through during life. The group analyzes the choices each one of us faces every day and the twists of fate these decisions precipitate that lead us either to success or failure.

"Do what you want to do," Epic says. "Go out with that girl, do that drug, go to that place. Just realize that you're going to have to deal with the aftermath. Crazy Town has been known to chew people up and spit them out. If you don't know how to navigate yourself through it, you will die."

Helping put across the Crazy Town message on The Gift of Game are special guests hip hop prophet KRS-One , dancehall toastmaster extraordinaire Mad Lion and Dirty Unit ("Think Fast"). A friend of the group had dropped by while they were recording, liked what he heard and immediately called up Lion, holding up his cell phone so the Mad one could hear what was going on in the studio. Quickly, the latter offered his services as toaster on "Hollywood Babylon." When he finished the track, he took a tape home and played it for KRS-One who was suitably impressed and in turn volunteered his services as well for "B-Boy 2000." This was a dream come true for Shifty and Epic as dyed-in-the-wool hip hop heads!

Shifty and Epic grew up listening to N.W.A, Cypress Hill and Ice-T as well as alternative rock bands like The Cure in Southern California. Shifty (who claims to be "like Sid Vicious, Kurt Cobain and Biggie Smalls all trapped in one body") routinely skipped out on his various music lessons, but when he came across a copy of the Beastie Boy's Licensed To Ill while in Mexico, he saw a fresh side of hip-hop that proved inspirational and he began making demo recordings on his own.

Meanwhile, Epic, whose family is originally from New York went to high school in Cali with Ice Cube, Divine Styler, Everlast and House of Pain's Danny Boy. He started making beats and cutting tracks early on, and wound up providing music for MC Serch of 3rd Bass' solo record.

It wasn't until Shifty and Epic hooked up that they either felt they could really pursue careers as professional musicians. Initially coming together as the Brimstone Sluggers about six years ago, the pair recorded plenty of music, but never completed a full album of their own because they kept getting involved contributing to with other hip hoppers' projects i.e.

Divine Styler and what would later become Black Eyed Peas.

Finally, Shifty and Epic decided that all of their respective outside ventures would cease and they would concentrate on their own special vision: a hip hop band featuring a full instrumental line-up to complement their rapping group. Recruiting Faydoedeelay (bass), Rust Epique (guitar), Trouble Valli (guitar), DJ AM (turntables) and JBJ (drums), Crazy Town was born with roots in classic rap-rock miscegenation ike Run DMC's "Rock Box," Public Enemy and Anthrax's collaborative "Bring Tha Noize," etc.

"Our parents listened to rock and we grew up listening to hip-hop," Shifty says. "We're part of a new generation of kids who really have an appreciation for all kinds of music and they're all being pushed together."

Yeah, into one Crazy Town.

The tour will cross Europe before heading to the United States, where it will hit major venues such as New York City's Madison Square Garden and Chicago's United Center.

Dave Matthews Band Cancels Benefit Show.

The second of two benefit shows during the Dave Matthews Band's visit to its leader's adopted hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia, has been canceled due to sluggish ticket sales.

"While I initially thought the fans and the community would be further benefited by the addition of a second show, I now believe we should work within the limits of one show," said DMB manager Coran Capshaw on Thursday (April 12). "To date, ticket sales for the second show do not assure sufficient additional net proceeds for the charitable fund to justify the strain on the community a second show may bring."

The shows, scheduled for April 21 and 22 at University of Virginia's Scott Stadium, were to benefit the Dave Matthews Band's Bama Works Foundation, which the group founded to help aid disadvantaged youth in the Charlottesville area. The April 22 date had been added after initial demand for tickets exceeded the venue's 40,000-seat capacity.

Ticket sales from the first show brought more than $850,000 to the Bama Works Foundation, according to the band's publicist. The second show was expected to add an estimated $1 million to that figure, according to John Redick, director of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Community Foundation, which backs the Bama Works Foundation.

"The band still intends to build up the foundation," Redick said. "Now it will just take a little longer."

Ticketholders for the April 22 benefit can receive a refund by returning tickets to point of purchase, the band's publicist said.

Matthews has lived in Charlottesville since the early 1990s.The band's latest release, Everyday, debuted at #1 in February; it sits at #3 on the Billboard 200 this week and will move to #6 next week.

Shaggy Gets 'Freaky' For Next Single, College Tour.

While the well-mannered "Angel" continues to soar, Shaggy will revert to the player persona portrayed on Hotshot's first single, "It Wasn't Me," for his next potential radio smash. The kinky casting call "Freaky Girl," which sports the chorus "I need a freaky girl .. someone who understands just what a player needs," is expected to surface at radio later this month, according to an MCA Records spokesperson. Shaggy, who's overseas on a promotional tour, is currently considering a video treatment for Hotshot's third single.

Anyone thinking they're freaky enough to pass the audition just might get their chance when the reggae-popster embarks on a brief college tour, beginning Wednesday at the University of Pittsburgh.

After the collegiate trek winds down April 28 at the State University of New York in Binghamton, Shaggy will revisit Europe to continue touting the virtues of the multiplatinum Hotshot, which continues its near four-month residency in the top 10 of Billboard's albums chart, landing this week at #4 and selling more than 5 million copies to date, according to SoundScan.

Shaggy returns Stateside in June to join the Backstreet Boys' summer tour, which kicks off June 8 in Orlando, Florida. Shaggy's college tour, according to his publicist:
· 4/18 - Pittsburgh, PA @ University of Pittsburgh
· 4/19 - University Park, PA @ Penn State University
· 4/20 - Lewisburg, PA @ Bucknell University
· 4/22 - Kingston, RI @ University of Rhode Island
· 4/24 - Wellesley, PA @ Wellesley College
· 4/25 - Wilmington, DE @ Kahuna Concert Hall
· 4/27 - Loudenville, NY @ Sienna College
4/28 - Binghamton, NY @ SUNY Binghamton

Our second band is Limp Bizkit.I thin everybody hear of this popular rap band. They Have an oldnew album called Chocolate Starfish and Hot Dog flavoured water.Huh its realy nasty .
Here is some bio:
Bring it on…
With Chocolate St*rfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, the Limp Bizkit five-man assault crew bring it on like it never has before. With over 13 tracks – including one that’s so phat it had to be presented in two different versions in order to fit everything in – the quintet from Jacksonville, FL, that’s spent the past four years turning the rock world on its head and spinning it round and round is back with its third album, a set of songs that’s deeper, denser and harder hitting than anything that’s preceded it. “It’s kind of a combination,” explains Wes Borland, the guitarist of many faces. “It’s a third level as a combination of Significant Other and Three Dollar Bill, Y’all$, kind of the heaviness of Three Dollar Bill, Y’all$ but more mature and focused in a better way.”

Adds drummer John Otto, “It’s us with different edges.”

On Chocolate St*rfish, those edges are the product of growth, maturity, and the confidence that comes from being one of the world’s most distinctive, popular, and, when necessary, controversial bands. “People are aftaid of this band,” says Borland, who makes that observation with a certain degree of pride.

After all, a hint of danger has always been one of the vanguards of rock n’ roll.

Limp Bizkit formed six years ago in Jacksonville, an assemblage of visionaries brought together by frontman Fred Durst, a former Navy plebe turned tattoo artist who’d been writing raps since he was 14. The collision of sensibilities between Durst, Otto, Borland, bassist Sam Rivers and House of Pain DJ Lethal formed a synthesis that was entirely of its time, a sonic barrage of crunchy power chords, phat grooves and psycho-delic loops that was without precedent- at least all under the same roof. The 1997 debut Three Dollar Bill, Y’all$ ushered Limp Bizkit inot the platinum house, thanks to an irreverent hit remake of George Michael’s “Faith” and an attention-getting spot on the 1998 OZZFest bill, with its famous giant toilet stage prop. But Limp Bizkit really ascended to te throne with 1999’s Significant Other, a ranting, raging masterpiece that debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Top 200, selling 634,874 copies during its first week of release and went on to sell more than six million copies.

As Durst notes on the new album, Lim Bizkit “crawled up you butt somehow/and that’s when things got turned around,” and what followed was a torrent of activity and accolades that left scorched earth and happily spent mosh pits. With the hits – “Nookie,” “Rearranged,” “Break Stuff” – as a soundtrack played at the WHFStival in Washington, D.C., and at Woodstock ’99 in Rome, N.Y., and it headlined the 1999 Family Values tour. Durst was named a Senior Vice-President at Interscope and started his own label, Flawless; he also signed on to direct the films “Nature’s Cure” and “Runt.” Rivers, meanwhile, was named the Best Rock Bass Player at the 2000 Orville H. Gibson Guitar Awards.

And as it set out to start work on what would become Chocolate St*rfish, Limp Bizkit was also tapped to record the theme song for Mission Impossible 2, scoring a summer hit with “Take a Look Around” which is also featured on the new album.

The keywords for Chocolate St*rfish were bigger, badder, harder, heavier, phatter, funkier…you get the idea. “There’s a lot of really good melody, and everything about every part is pretty catchy,” says Otto. “It’s new and really melodic. There’s all kinds of different hooks going on within the music. You could listen to the music by itself, really, but once the vocals get over and Lee does all his DJ stuff, it takes it up to that enormous, killer level.”

Our third singer(band) is Marilin Manson.
Here is some actions and concerts from Marilin Manson.

U.S. SUPREME COURT BANS MANSON T-SHIRTS 03/20/01
Former high school student, Nicholas J. Boroff was banned from Van Wert High School in Van Wert, Ohio, in August 1997 for wearing a Marilyn Manson T-shirt. On Monday, March 19, 2001, the court, without comment, turned down the Ohio student's argument that school officials could not keep him from wearing T-shirts depicting Manson. School officials were able to ban the shirts because they were determined to be "vulgar, offensive and contrary to the educational mission of the school," the appeals court said, noting that school officials submitted evidence of the group's "pro-drug persona." In the appeal acted on Monday, Boroff's lawyers said that while there was evidence that Manson had promoted drug use and Satanism, that did not mean school officials could ban students from wearing his name and picture. CATHOLIC LEAGUE DECLARES BOYCOTT ON MANSON'S "HOLY WOOD" IN NEW YORK POST'S "PAGE SIX"11/26/00
MANSON MASSShockingly, the Catholic League has condemned Marilyn Manson's new album, "Holy Wood," which features such titles as "Disposable Teens," "Godeatgod," "Crucifiction in Space" and "The Death Song." Catholic League President William Donohue took particular offense at the Goth rocker donning a bishop's role and a cross in the "Teens" video. "It is Christianity that [Manson] hates, and it is Catholocism that he hates most of all...This guy is at war with Christ," Donohue says, in calling for a boycott of the CD.In response, Manson had this to say,"I can't possibly be at war with Christ, because your religion killed him and what he stood for.

But if you want to be at war with me...bring it on."

The cover of Holy Wood has been banned from Circuit City and Best Buy. These stores will be carrying an alternate album cover. Manson had this to say."The irony is that my point of the photo on the album was to show people that the crucifixion of Christ is, in deed, a violent image. In fact, the picture itself is composed of a statue of Jesus taken from a place of worship. My jaw is missing as a symbol of this very kind of censorship. This doesn't piss me off as much as it pleases me, because those offended by my album cover have successfully proven my point."

HOLY WOOD REVIEW IN AMAZON.COM 11/10/00
The impact of Marilyn Manson's subversive musical agenda has waned, and what's left is a provocative, talented artist writing affecting, powerful, and yes, controversial songs. Although Holy Wood is the third title of a trilogy that began with 1996's Antichrist Superstar, the album stands on its own. Rife with references to the Beatles and the Kennedys, and full of pop-culture barbs, Holy Wood is a musically diverse and powerful statement. The memorable sing-along "Disposable Teens" boasts the same kind of staccato, Teutonic, first-thrusting power introduced with "Beautiful People," while "Fight Song" is the Sex Pistols meets Blur by way of Nirvana. While a futuristic, nihilistic tint pervades Manson's work, passion is also prevalent, notably in the spooky acoustic number "A Place in the Dirt" and the brutal "Death Song." Like Marilyn Manson the man, Holy Wood is intelligent, dynamic, and multifaceted, with myriad charms that are evident to the tuned-in listener.

EXCERPTS FROM HOLY WOOD REVIEWS 11/10/00
ROLLING STONE - "You have to respect Manson for addressing real life issues with a theatrical verve and genuine vitriol that no other mainstream act can match." NME - "By far the best thing Manson has ever set his warped mind to, 'Holy Wood...' ultimately inspires something far more potent than fear or hatred.

Respect." MELODY MAKER - "If your not consumed by its ferocity, you'll be enslaved by the hypnotic, pendulous mantras ("The Lamb of God", "Coma Black", "Valentine's Day")." REVOLVER - "Holy Wood is the religiously offensive manifesto Manson promised." FMQB - "Whether or not you care or believe in Manson's idealism, you got to admit, the guy has brass balls and writes some pretty damn good Rock songs."
