In our society, unlike in the other foreign countries, where is sex education already present, there is still very little interest to introduce sex education in schools. For instance in United States sex education is present in all elementary and high schools. Maybe our society doesn’t provide enough attention to this question, because the problem of AIDS and other sexual diseases is not such common. Nevertheless, there is problem with unwanted pregnancy and abortion.
Because most of kids doesn’t know the basic things about safe sex, discussion in classrooms where are many children, may be counter productive. Majority of children would be embarrassed to ask question and discuss about this matter in front of the other kids. On the other side, there are very little competent persons to introduce kids with this problem.
Constant grow of unwanted pregnancy between children under 18, forced us to take this question seriously, and to thing about beginning of sex education at least in last grades of elementary school and in high school.
Abortions that have very bad consequences on physical and mental growth of teenagers also note down increase and proper education at schools would probably decrease this number.
All this is result of very little knowledge about contraception and things that are used to prevent unwanted pregnancy and spreading out sexual diseases.
Our society is very conservative about sex education. I think when children in conservation with their parents come to this theme, parents avoid giving them straight answer and they usually switch the stream of conversation in other way. In many families, sex is taboo theme, which is very wrong and may have bad consequences. Because of all this I think that is very important to start with sex education in schools.
My opinion is that first information’s about sex and contraception, children should give their parents. Also there should be organized some consultation for parents so they know how to talk with their children when it comes to this matter.
