Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia. It's located in the South- west of Slovakia and lies on both sides of river Danube, near to border with Hungary and Austria. This is the biggest city in Slovak republic with more than 400 000 inhabitants. It's political, culture and industry centre of Slovakia. Bratislava is cosmopolitan city. Hungary's name of Bratislava is Poszny and Austria's name is Pressburg.

Monuments

Most well-known monuments are Bratislava castle, Grassalkovič palace, the City Hall, Slovak National Theatre. Once of modern monument is Slavín. There are fossils soldiers from Second World War.

In this city, there are famous theatres (like Slovak National Theatre, L+S, New Scene), hotels (as Crown Plaza, Dunaj, Devín).

Universites

In Bratislava, there are placed universites like Komenského university, Slovak Technical University, Istropolitana Academy. There are located well- known Industrial companies as Slovnaft, Valkswagen, Istrochem, BAZ, Palma, Kraft Foods.
