I live in a flat in a block of flats on a housing estate in our town, near language school, which I visit twice a week, on Monday and on Wednesday. It isn't my flat, it‘s our flat because I live in a flat with my parents. I live in three rooms flat on the sixth floor, it's without a balcony, but we have a lift there. It's a very big help for us and for all neighbors. Our block of flats is thirty-five years old and it is after reconstruction just now. I have good view from our windows and I see many interesting things. On to the west side I see many streets, cars, a department store, a greater part of airport, many trees, all neighborhood, High Tatras and surrounding forests. On to the east side, I see two schools, many blocks of flats, many trees and many streets too. Our flat is very small. There are three rooms, a living room, a children's room, a bedroom, a hall, a bathroom, a toilet, and a very small kitchen. My favourite room is a former children's room. Now it is fitness, a bedroom and a workroom for me. I like exercising there, often on a toning machine, I listen to a radio, watch a TV, video or DVD movies, very often I work on a PC and browse on the net, I do different exercises, homework, study English and relax too.
We have three rooms, bathroom, toilet and small kitchen in our flat. In a living room there are a sofa with two armchairs, a coffee table, under coffee table there are two stools, a TV, a video, a DVD-player, one wardrobe, a furniture, a lamp, two pictures and in the middle of the ceiling hang a chandelier. On both pictures there are painting of the countryside with High Tatras. In the bedroom, there are some wardrobes, double bed, two lamps on two night tables, a picture and some plants. In my room, there are two beds, one is a hospital bed, it is mine. There're a television, a video, a stereo, bookshelves, two wardrobes, a toning machine, a telephone and a mobile phone, and my favorite computer on a desk, and a chandelier too. On the wall hang two pictures from puzzles, one with countryside and one with running horses. On second wall hang one picture with my sign of the zodiac and one picture with memory of my First Holy Communion. We have a small kitchen there are a cooker, a small table, one chair, a kitchen cupboard, a food cupboard, some plants, some cups, some glasses, some cutlery, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, and a washing machine. A toilet is small too, but a bathroom is big because it was remade for me. There're a big bath, a mirror, small washbasin and a very big door. In our hallway is a rug, a big mirror, opposite a front door is a freezer and under freezer is a picture from puzzle on the wall, build-in cupboard, a wardrobe for shoes. In all rooms are curtains and carpets only in a bathroom, a toilet and a hallway are paving on a floor. In our flat, there are a lot of plants and flowers because my mother likes them very much.
Comparing living in a flat or a house is difficult. Someone says that living in a house is better than in a flat and someone the opposite. I live in a flat. The flats are often smaller than houses. Most people live in three rooms or two rooms' flats. In these flats there usually isn't so much place as in a house. If a family has more children, the children must live in one room together. In most cases, people living in flats don't have any gardens or cottages, only a garage. The main advantage of living in a flat is that flats aren't so expensive and usually are situated in a town, where everything is near and handy. There are all shops, offices, many places where to go when you want to have fun and you can have many friends there.
Living in houses has many advantages too. There are more places for living. Every member of the family can have his or her room. A house usually has more rooms. It depends on the type of the house. In a house can be a big kitchen with larder, a workroom, a fitness room, more bedrooms, toilets and bathrooms and of course an attic. There can be spare rooms for guests and visitors too. In the house, there can be a cellar, where to store the vegetables and fruits from a garden. Next to a house, there is usually a big or small garden, where children can play and they don't play on the street, where there is a traffic. For example, you can also keep pets there on a garden. Family can work in a garden, relax, or do various parties. Houses usually have garages. It's very good place for men's hobbies.
I live in a flat, but I would like to live in a house, but only in town, because everything, many shops, offices, many places are in a centre of a town. If I had a lot of money, I would buy a ground floor house with a big kitchen, a workroom, a small fitness, a big living room with a door on the terrace with a view on the big garden and of course an attic. A one floor house, because I am an invalid, a physically handicapped, all days sitting on a wheelchair. I need simple access to a house and neighborhoods.
In our block of flats, there are live good, but also bad neighbors. There are seventeen flats and there live many people. Some people are noisy, unfriendly, not helpful, and curious where we are going, how often etc. On the opposite side some people are very tolerant, friendly, they very helpful help us or me in different situations. I like to talk with them about my or their different problems.
I love our flat because I have been living there for` thirty years already and I have many friends here.
