Bratislava

The most typical symbol of the capital is Bratislava's castle that towers 885 meters over the river Danube. If you see driving around the castle of the table-upside-down shape you can be sure, you are right in Bratislava. The first mention of the castle is attested by several records from beginning of the 10th century.

Saint Martin´s Cathedral is a Gothic church of the basilica type, with side aisles the same height as the central part. It was built in the 14th and 15th centuries on the site of an older Romanesque church. Over almost 300 years, the church was used for the coronations of kings of Hungary.

The Slovak National Gallery is situated close to the river Danube, which were built in the 18th. The reconstruction works, which took more than 7 years.


London

The largest and best-known church of the City is St. Paul's Cathedral. Sir Christopher Wren finished it in 1711. It stands on the site of the previous cathedral which was damaged by the Great Fire of London in 1666.

If you visit Great Britain, there are many places to go. The capital city - London has many attractions all by itself. For example Big Ben - tower with huge clock or The Tower bridge which was a prison in the past. Great Britain is a beautiful country with interesting history, culture and political system.

The Houses of Parliament – It is the political centre of the United Kingdom, the home of British Parliament. It’s building in gothic style but was built only between 1840 - 1852 after the old building had burnt down.


New York

New York is the largest city in the USA and one of the largest and most fascinating cities of the world. A symbol of New York City all over the world, the Empire State Building stood as the tallest building in the world until 1977 when the World Trade Center took the title. Designed in the Art Deco motif, the building was completed in 1929.

The Brooklyn Bridge is the longest in the world. It connects Brooklyn to Manhattan Island. It was built in the 19th century and was the first bridge to use steel for cable wire.

Another interesting place for visitors of New York is the Fifth Avenue, famous for its luxurious shops, jewelries, and office buildings. It runs six miles through the city.


Paris

Notre Dame Cathedral is an impressive marvel of medieval architecture. Started in 1163 and completed in 1330, Notre Dame Cathedral has a striking gothic exterior, two broad towers, and plenty of sweeping arches.

The Eiffel Tower is a famous metal tower which is situated in the centre of Paris. It was built by Gustav Eiffel for the International Exhibition of Paris of 1889 and commemorated the centenary of the French Revolution. The Eiffel tower was the symbol of modernity and the Industrial revolution.


Prague

Nerudova street contains some of the fines Prague Baroque houses and palaces. It was named after Jan Neruda, a famous Czech writer and poet who lived in the 19th century in the House of Two Suns.

The Prague Castle it was founded in 880 A.D. by the first Přemysl prince Bořivoj. Its greatest period was during the reign of Charles IV. In 1344 the construction of St. Vitus Cathedral started. In the time of Rudolf II the castle became a famous centre of science, arts and culture.

The National Theatre, built in the late Renaissance style from a public money collection in the second half of the 19th century. Before its ceremonial opening in 1881 it was severely damaged by fire and was rebuilt within the next two years.
