United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
The association consisting of the UK and various indipendent states and territorities is called the Commonwealth of Nation. There are currently 53 members. The reigning British monarch is recognized as the head of the Commonwealth and its leaders meet for a conference every two years.
Great Britain consist of the geographical areas of England, Scotland and Wales. The political state is officially called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. People from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are often offended when the terms England an English are used to refer to the whole country or its citizens.
The capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast, capital of Wales is Cardiff and capital of England is London. London is complex metropolis with ancient part of town- City of London and surrounding 28 boroughs. It is placed in area of lower hills by the river Themes and it has very rich history. But London did not always all right in the past. In 1665 was the capital was attacked by plague and almost half of the citizens found theyself death. In 2nd September 1666 a big fire started in London which destroyed a large part of the medieval City of London.
United States of America
The United States of America as a country lying in the southern half of North America, with additional territory in Alaska and Hawaii. It is made up of 50 states and the District of Columbia. The capital is Washington D.C. USA is the world leading economic power with a highly productive agricultural system. It is generally divided into four regions: the North-East, the Mid West, the South and the West.
The North-East and the Mid West together formed the historical North as opposed to the South. Both the UK and the USA have political system based on two opposed parties. While in Britain, the two political parties are the Conservative Party and the Labour Party (the Socialists), in the USA the two parties are the Republicans and the Democrats.
