There is Whispering Gallery, which runs around the inside of the dome, a whisper near the wall at one side can be herd on the other side. The hollow golden ball, beneath the cross has six feet in diameter.

London’s docklands

At the time, when London was the main British port were the Docklands very famous, but after closing the docks they went into sleep decline. They are situated in the East End and the Cockneys has origin here. In 1980 the London Dockland Development Corporation was set up to redevelop this area.

Now the Docklands are very modern, offices, international firms and houses for wealthy replaced the workers houses. This place is very attractive because it is near to the center and there are good transport links – light railway and new airport. Of course, not all the old buildings were crashed, some of them converted to supermarkets – Tobacco Docks and St. Katherine’s Docks.

We can find here Thames Barrier, Millenium Dome and the highest building in UK{250m} situated in Canary Warf. Opposite these is the Isle of Dogs.

Docklands represent the meeting of the past, the preset and the future.
