In Australia, the school year starts at the end of January and ends in the middle of December. Two shorter holidays divide the school year into three parts called terms. Parents get the school report at the end of each term. On the other hand, in the Czech Republic, the school year starts at the beginning of September and ends at the end of June. The school year is divided into two halves. At the end of each half parents get the school report.
System of university education is practically same in both countries. University education is similarly financed by both governments. In Australia, there is a system of scholarships and grants, as there are in the Czech Republic. In both countries there are a rather large number of universities. The biggest one and the oldest one in the Czech Republic in Charles University, while in Australia the Australian National University and the University of Sydney are significant. University education also includes Technical Colleges, Colleges of Agriculture or Colleges of Advanced Education both in Australia and in the Czech Republic.
To sum up, the educational system of Australia and the Czech Republic is similar. Significant differences are only in the secondary education, while the system of pre-school, primary and university education is rather identical. Although, the system is not enough. Even a good system does not refer about the quality of education. The quality depends on the ability of teachers to teach effectively and on methods used.
