Mark Twain
Mark Twain was born as Samual Langhorne Clemans on November 30, 1835 in Florida. He grew up in Hannibal, Mo on the west bank of the Mississippi. When he turned 13 he became a full time apprentice to a local printer. Later in his life he worked with his brother on "The Hannibal Journal." He became a composer for this paper. Over the course of his lifetime he wrote many classic books. Two of my favorite books would have to be "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." I like these two books because of the way the stories were written. I also liked them because of the conversy that followed when they came out. Both books were banned from the shelves, because of many times the word "Nigger" was used. They also were contrversial because of the political satire found within both books. The books were espeically made to critize the society around Mark Twain. I believe that he was a master at what he did. He took two simple boys growing up in a midwest town, He added an African American as a main character, and added a new twist on life. These ingritents have made two of the best classical books in history. I really enjoyed them very much. He lived a very long and wonderful life. In a way Mark Twain's life was all an adventure. Just like all of us humans Samual Langhorne Clemans died in Redding, Conn on April 21, 1910.
