Banská Bystrica

Banská Bystrica is a town. In 2005, the town had population of 81,704. Banská Bystrica lies at an altitude of 362 metres and covers an area of 103.37 km². There are more mountains arround city.Banská Bystrica the capital city of Central Slowakia with nearly of eighty thousand inhabitants, lies at the river Hron, among Poľana, Kremnické hills and Starohorske hills.
Next to Urpin is river Hron. Many people fishing there. Central of city is very beautiful, because there is fountain and a lot of historical buildings and historical monuments. For example monumet of SNP.

Between monumet of SNP and hotel Lux is very interesting and protected park. Many of children play there. When some businessman wanted build a sport hall a lot of people of Banská Bystrica come there and they do a live chain. Banská Bystrica has a large network of hiking paths all around tme town.

The town´s origin and its development were connected with mining, mainly with copper mining. Tme king Belo IV granted town´s faculties to Banská Bystrica by the establishing document in 1255. Prosperity of tme town culminates in 1945, when tme Thurso – Fugger copper mining company was established. It was demonstrated by building of palatial buildings at the square of tme town. The town of Banská Bystrica was written in new history in 1944 as tme center of anti-fascist national uprising. The town, proclaimed as the historical monunent reservation, has one of tme most beautiful squares in Slowakia with rare bourgeois houses. The caste area is the oldest historical monunent. As for town´s parts, tme most important is Radvaň, where are three mansions and other sights.
