DATA ENTRY OPERATOR
Definition: Under general supervision, operates computers and alphabetic and numeric machines in recording and verifying a variety of complex data; and performs related duties as required. Examples of duties: Classifies and codes data to be entered; keys from a variety of prepared and original source documents, forms, and records; identifies and corrects errors; performs clerical and related office tasks as assigned, such as maintaining records of work received and work performed; verifies data input; may help in training new personnel in the procedures and operation of data entry equipment. Knowledge of: methods and equipment used in keypunching or data entering; general clerical and record-keeping procedures including coding, indexing, filing and comparing. Ability to: make comparisons and calculations rapidly and accurately; operate a data entry machine with the speed and accuracy necessary to meet departmental standards.
COOK
Definition : Under general supervision, coordinates and participates in preparing, cooking, and serving food to large groups of people in an institutional setting; does varied cooking and prepares special diet foods; and does related work as required.
Employment standards: 1.One year of experience in cooking and preparing meals in large quantities; or, 2.one year of experience performing duties equivalent to the class of Food Services Worker II with Santa Barbara County; or, 3.a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities Knowledge of: the methods and procedures of quantity food preparation; kitchen sanitation and safe food storage; use and care of cooking equipment and utensils; kitchen safety. Ability to: prepare quantities of food required with a minimum of waste; organize and prioritize work assignments; make routine arithmetic computations; prepare and serve food in an allotted time and on schedule; safely store and hold food; maintain good working relationships; direct the work of others; understand and follow written and oral instructions; prepare tasty food, and serve it attractively; kitchen, dining area, kitchen utensils and equipment in a sanitary manner; lifts objects weighing up to 100 pounds; willingness and ability to accept shift work required.
THERAPY ATTENDANT
Definition : Under close supervision, assists professional staff in providing physical and occupational therapy to infants and children with physical disabilities; and performs related work as required. Employment standards: 1.Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent and some experience working with children or individuals with physical disabilities; or 2.equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required abilities.
Ability to: work with staff and people with disabilities; follow written and oral instructions; keep records; maintain confidentiality; and learn and explain therapy procedures.
STOREKEEPER
Definition: Under general supervision this position is responsible for the maintenance of a department's storeroom which includes but is not limited to, stocking of operational materials and supplies, inventory control and records, purchasing, and related duties as required.
Employment standards: 1.Two years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, and recordkeeping; or 2.one year of experience performing duties equivalent to the class of Utility Worker, Departmental or a closely related class in Santa Barbara County; or 3.a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of: storekeeping and inventory control procedures; recordkeeping and other clerical procedures; care and maintenance of equipment and supplies; safety and security practices; basic mechanical concepts. Ability to: read, interpret, and carry out written and oral instructions; write legibly; prepare and maintain routine records; estimate department needs; determine the quality and quantity of materials received in relation to prescribed specifications; performs accurate arithmetical calculations; work under pressure; maintain good working relationships with supervisors, peers, and the public; organize and prioritize work; interpret information contained in parts and service manuals; understand and utilize technical repair terminology and concepts; learn to use an adding machine, computer terminal (when applicable), and light machinery that may include a forklift.
PHARMACIST
Definition: Under direction, to compound and dispense pharmaceutical drugs and prescriptions; and, to do related work as required.
Employment standards: Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Pharmacist issued by the State of California. Knowledge of: the compounding of prescriptions and stock pharmaceutical preparations; drugs, chemicals, and pharmaceutical supplies required in the operation of a pharmacy; state laws pertaining to the dispensing and use of narcotics and poisons. Ability to: compound a wide variety of drugs and medicines and maintain records.
