She again starred with Kline in 1997's The Ice Storm (directed by Ang Lee) in a memorable performance as a disillusioned, adulterous suburban wife and mother in 1970s Connecticut.

Her more recent work includes an acclaimed starring turn in A Map of the World, alongside Julianne Moore, and a role as a voluptuous Southern California blonde in the extraterrestrial spoof Galaxy Quest. Both films were released in late 1999.

Weaver lives in New York City with her husband, stage director James Simpson, and their daughter Charlotte.
