Michael Schumacher biography
Michael Schumacher was born on 3rd January 1969 in western Germany (in HURTH). When he was 4 years old he was first time on the circuit in go-kart. He was very good and in his 18 years he became the European Champion. After 15 years of go-karting he started to with racing cars in Germany. In 1990 he became the Mercedes-Benz team driver in the Sports Car World Championship and the German Formula 3 Champion. In 1991, at Belgium Grand Prix, Schumacher became a second driver for the Formula 1 team-Jordan. After one year he won his first race in Benetton-Ford team. He was third in 1992 and fourth in 1993, he won the World Title in 1994. In 1995 Michael Schumacher defended his World Championship Title in a Benetton-Renault After four and half years in Benetton, Michael signed a contract with Ferrari with objective of bring back to Maranello World Title. In 1997 and 1998 he narrowly missed out on the World Title. In 1998 he renewed his contract with Ferrari to year 2002. The 1999 season was very hard for Michael. At Silverstone he had a first big accident in his career. He broke his right leg and he had to have a brake. In 2000 it was fifth season in Ferrari and Michael wanted to bring World Title after 20 years back to Maranello and to win his third World Title. For many people, Michael Schumacher has been the best driver in Formula 1 since 1994. He is ambitious, self/disciplined and totally committed to success and respected by his rivals and friends. In 1995 Schumacher married his girlfriend Corinna and in 1997 was born their daughter Gina-Maria and in 1999 their son Mick. They live together in Switzerland near Lake of Geneva. In his spare time, Michael plays as a striker for the local football club, FC Aubonne….
