By the year 1920 women became full members of the university and had right to take university degrees. Today, there are 39 colleges at the university, from which 38 admit both men and women. Only St. Hilda’s college remained the only college, which admits only women.
Many museums and libraries are the parts of the university. The main library – The Bodleian Library was established in the early 17th century by Sir Thomas Bodley, who do-nated the first books from Europe to the library.
